A redesign of the pre-existing catalog for the “Graphic Design: Now in Production” exhibition from Walker Art Center. The exhibition showcased graphic design work over the past decade and how it has developed into new fields.
This catalog is a tribute to the quirks of printing and how imperfections can become precious. Each image is halftone filtered and separated into the process colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, and key; then each process color is printed in separate passes on an inkjet printer.
All misalignments are purely thanks to the printing, and can be seen through the registration marks along the shoulders. Celebrating printer’s marks and the process of mis-registration, every book is one-of-a-kind and non-reproducible due to the printing method.
